The scratch-resistant effects of the Spectraplus treatment can be seen here where the left-hand side has remained untreated and the whole lens rubbed with wire wool.

Upon shining a lamp on the lens, the untreated side shows clear scratch marks. The treated side, however, was able to resist the effects of the wool and is left unmarked.
